Wildwood shares the permit process with St. Louis County. The City reviews each project for zoning compliance, and the County reviews the plans, enforces the building codes and performs the inspections, ending with a final inspection and occupancy approval. A building permit is required for additions, structural alterations, electrical or mechanical work, and new or replaced plumbing.
Some work that doesn't need a building permit, such as minor repairs, can still need a Zoning Authorization from the City.
